The present project is developed on request of the client and on the basis of approved plan together with a permit for building survey and project issued by the Plovdiv Municipality Administration.

The object of the assignment is designing of a public building, which main function is hotel in combination with catering establishments and Beauty center.

The building plot is situated on the north-east side of the cross-way of Bogomil Street and Ilarion Makariopolski Street. On the north side the building plot is partly contiguous to future extension of a Hydraulic and Pneumatic Appliances Factory. On the southern site is a No 9 line Buss-stop.

The building has eight levels (floors).

On the basement floor, elevation -2.66, are located the following rooms: boiler room; two lift-rooms – one for passengers and one for the freight platform, which caters the restaurant on elevation +3.50; storage-rooms of the restaurant as well as laundry.

On the ground floor, elevation ±0.00, are designed: reception with administrative office, lobby-bar with 45 places, storage-room of the lobby-bar and WC-room with two cells as wells as industrial goods shop.

On elevation +3.50 is located the restaurant with 48 places, wardrobe, sanitary and WC-room, kitchen and its relevant rooms, which are complete described in the technological project part.

The Beauty Center is designed on elevation +6.50. The procedures offered by the Beauty Center are for the hotel guests and other customers as well. They are the following: fitness, sauna, solarium, cosmetics and hairdresser, massage and reducing weight apparatus. On the same level is drafted a chambermaid-room.

The last four levels are the real hotel floors. There are six hotel rooms on the first three of them with a chambermaid-room and the last one has three hotel rooms with panorama terraces.

Concerning the building function and its communicative characteristics there are designed two passenger lifts. The one, which is suited for the hotel guests, is for eight persons and it is possible to accompany and to care for a person in a wheel-chair there. The second one is for the chambermaids with a hoisting capacity for four persons. Both lifts will have a stop station in the basement floor. The freight platform for catering in the kitchen has three stop stations on the following elevations: -2.66, ±0.00 and +3.50.

The fundamental circumstances, which affected the architectural and spatial solution for the building concept, are: the almost free space location of the plot and its geometry, which is close to a square. The building composition is spherical because of those free space volume and at the same time it is lengthened along its vertical axis. The material expression of this composition is the panorama lift trajectory, which is situated in the vertical break going trough all levels. In this way the movement of the hotel guests duplicates the natural daylight movement. All rooms are situated at the floors periphery and so each one of them is located between two natural daylight spaces. The oriel volumes are designed to be used as additional building partition and to achieve horizontal plasticity. The ground floor glazing tending to achieve not only brightness between the inside and the outside spaces, but a contrast between the “upper and heavy” and the “lower and breakable”.
